Bay Park Veterinary Clinic (formerly Bay Park Pet Clinic) was established in the early 1950s and has been caring for the pets of San Diego ever since. In 1993, the practice was purchased by Dr. Crosby Roper whose mission has been to develop a clinic that provides the highest quality pet care in a personalized, and friendly environment. To that end, the practice has invested in state-of-the-art equipment and ongoing education for the staff to ensure that our patients and clients receive the best care available.
In June 2010 Bay Park Veterinary Clinic relocated from its small offices on Morena Boulevard to a spacious modern facility at 3024 Hancock Street about one mile away. This transition has allowed us to offer a variety of services available at few other clinics in the area.
The designated special-procedures area houses an advanced diagnostic ultrasound unit designed for both abdominal and cardiac imaging. This technology allows a real-time evaluation of the internal organs to assess, among other things, for heart disease, tumors, and urinary tract problems. It also contains an advanced video-endoscopy tower. Current applications for this equipment include gastro-intestinal endoscopic examination and biopsy, bronchoscopy, urinary tract endoscopic examination and biopsy, as well as laparoscopy. The laparoscopic capacity allows us to perform biopsies of the liver, kidney and pancreas as well as to visualize all the abdominal organs through two keyhole incisions. This greatly reduces risk, post-procedure pain and recovery time for our patients and allows us to perform biopsies without hospitalizing the pets overnight as is often necessary with traditional abdominal surgery.
Our large designated surgical suite is fully equipped with advanced monitoring equipment and a state-of-the-art anesthesia machine to insure that our patients are always safe during any surgical procedure. We perform a variety of orthopedic and soft-tissue procedures with the assistance of our consulting board-certified surgery specialist, Dr. Dan Frankel.
